The Early Generations of Hard Work, Perseverance and Foresight

Zeck Systems™ was founded in October of 2003 by Mark V. Zeck as a continuation of the work began by Mark's  father Ted, and his grandfather, I.V. Zeck. 

The work ethic began when I.V. Zeck opened a garage in Witchita Falls, Texas, later moving his family and the business to Snyder, Texas in the 1940's. Since Snyder was located on top of the prolific Canyon Reef Oil Formation, he soon acquired new challenges for his business. Not only was he servicing vehicle engines, but he began servicing drilling engines. Soon after, word got around and the local engineers recognized his talents; seeking his advice on special projects and other aspects of the engines he serviced. Out of necessity, I.V. added a machine shop and expanded his business. He officially founded Y-Z Carburetor Service in 1949, with his partner John Young. 

Mr. Young would soon turn over his portion of the business, but I.V. grew the business over the next 30 years, adding new products and even a son to his team, Ted Zeck.  Ted and his father worked the business together.  During that time, Y-Z began building sampling systems for crude oil and liquid petroleum gas that included complete skids.  Their unique product, attention to details and hard work ethic allowed the business to continue to flourish. 

The Middle Generation of Growth

In the 1970s, the company began developing natural gas sampling systems, which would set a new course for the company.  In the early 1980's, Ted's two sons would join the business and the growth of the company was expansive.  This era brought along new products that made a name for YZ.  Not only were the products superior in design, but the entire process of designing and building the products was done in the same building.  Needless to say, quality control was a top priority.

Mark brought his engineering expertise to the platform. He had previously been a construction engineer for National Valve and Manufacturing Company building coal burning power generation stations where he served as a supervisor for the construction of large steam turbines, turbine support systems, power piping systems and instrumentation.  Mark accepted a position as Executive VP of YZ and later became co-owner.  He lead the YZ R&D team in designing the first complete self-contained odorization system for the industry, the NJEX Odorization System.  Not only did this streamline the odorization process, but it set the standard for simplicity and effectiveness of a product.  Mark later co-invented the 7000 series odorant pump and invented the 6000 series odorant pump.

Today's Generation of Refinement

When YZ was sold by Mark's brother it was moved to the Philadelphia area and absorbed into a large conglomerate. Zeck Systems was founded by Mark to continue the legacy set forth by his father and grandfather. His experience and expertise in odorization is unmatched in the designing, manufacturing and installation of precision injection systems.

Zeck Systems evolved when Mark invented the Z9000 Optical Odorization System patent number US 7,056,360 and others pending. The Z10 High Volume Odorizer _{patent pending} is in the active design phase and should be out soon.

The company slogan — Simple. Accurate. Better. — was a corporate mandate insisted upon by Mark’s mentors and continues to drive innovation and create strong partnerships . . . just a few blocks south of where his grandfather began the adventure more than 60 years ago!
